EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy)

An attachment-based approach to the patterns partners get caught in.

What it is

Emotionally Focused Therapy was developed by Sue Johnson and draws on attachment research. It views much couple conflict as a recurring cycle that both partners get caught in.

The approach focuses on that cycle and on the emotions and needs underneath it. It is used with couples, and adapted versions are used with individuals and families.
