Online therapy
Online therapy across California
Secure video sessions from wherever you are in the state, with the same depth and care as sitting in the room.
How online therapy works
Sessions happen over secure, private video. All you need is a phone, tablet, or computer, a steady connection, and a place where you can talk without being overheard.
You need to be physically in California at the time of each session, because that is where our clinicians are licensed or registered.
Anywhere in the state
Sessions are available anywhere in California: San Diego and Orange County, Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, the Central Coast and Central Valley, Sacramento, and the Bay Area. For people in towns with few therapists, or with a waitlist everywhere nearby, video opens up far more options.
Who it works well for
Online therapy suits people with full calendars, parents with little time between commitments, college students, and anyone who simply feels more at ease talking from home. We offer it for individual, couples, and teen therapy, in English, Spanish, and Farsi.
Is it as effective as in person?
Research on video therapy for anxiety, depression, and trauma has generally found results comparable to in-person care. What matters most is the fit between you and your therapist, which is why every client starts with a free 15-minute consultation.
Fees and insurance
Sessions are 50 minutes and $175 to $275 depending on the clinician, with sliding scale options. We accept United/Optum, Cigna, and Aetna, some clinicians are in network through Headway or Alma, and we provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Fees and insurance.
What we help with
Common questions
- Can I do online therapy from work or my car?
- Yes, as long as you are somewhere private where you can speak freely. Many clients use a parked car or an office with the door closed.
- What if I travel outside California?
- You need to be in California for each session. If you will be away, tell your therapist and you can plan around it together.
- Can couples do therapy online?
- Yes. Couples can join together from home, which removes the drive and makes weekly sessions easier to keep.
