OCD and Intrusive Thoughts

Therapy for OCD and intrusive thoughts

Unwanted thoughts can feel frightening and shameful. They are far more common than most people realize.

What it can look like

  • Thoughts or images that feel disturbing and out of character.
  • Checking, reassurance seeking, or mental reviewing.
  • Needing things to feel just right.
  • Avoiding people, places, or objects that trigger doubt.

How we work with it

We approach intrusive thoughts without judgment, helping you relate to them differently and loosen the grip of compulsions. We offer ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), the most researched approach for OCD, and can combine it with other approaches that fit you.

Getting started

Sessions are offered by teletherapy anywhere in California, with in-person sessions available in San Diego. A free 15-minute phone consultation is the simplest first step.
