In Karina's words

You might be dealing with anxiety, grief, past experiences, relationship concerns, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of what needs to change. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. That’s often where we begin.

My approach is flexible and tailored to the person I’m working with.

I’m warm, approachable, and genuinely easy to talk to. Clients have told me they were surprised that therapy could feel comfortable and even enjoyable at times. I use humor when it fits because I believe meaningful work and moments of ease can exist in the same space. I’m not here to lecture you or tell you what you should be feeling. My role is to help you slow things down, look at situations from another perspective, and recognize strengths or possibilities that may be difficult to see when you’re in the middle of everything.

Sessions with me are conversational and collaborative. I draw from CBT and Trauma-Focused CBT, which may include looking at thoughts and patterns that continue to show up and exploring whether they are still helping you. I also incorporate attachment-based and acceptance-based approaches, which can help us understand how relationships, experiences, and patterns connect to what you’re feeling now. In the first few sessions, I spend a lot of time listening and getting to know you. I want to understand what has been going on, what matters to you, and what you hope will feel different. You set the pace. I believe people open up when they feel safe and ready, so I won’t pressure you to talk about something before you’re comfortable.

I especially enjoy working with teens and young adults, parents, people navigating identity, culture, or first-generation experiences, and those who may be new to therapy or unsure what to expect. I work in English and Spanish.

My approach is flexible and tailored to the person I’m working with. I don’t believe therapy needs to look exactly the same for everyone, and I try to create a space where we can figure out together what is most helpful for you.

If you feel like we might be a good fit, I’d be happy to connect. We can talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and whether working together feels right.
